Typography manifesto

I believe in good typographyNot just good typography but rather great typography I’m talking about awesome kerning!

Awesome leading! Helvetica is perfect! Comic sans is dreadful….. Typography is what language looks like. Think of it this way, we are living in a world where typing more than we are talking. Typography is what speaks for us. It can be our voice when nobody wants to hear us. Give it hope. Give it respect. Show it off! Love it. Hate it. Make it. Treasure it. A crappy font can look pretty awesome when used correctly (comic sans isn’t one of them). How beautiful and perfect Helvetica may appear, it can still look crappy when not used correctly (yes, that’s correct). Good typography should give all designers Goosebumps (it gives me and makes me say in my head: ‘why didn’t I think of that?”)When you still thinking, it is already being done.Go crazy with typography, its there, USE IT.No underlining!No hard returns between paragraphs!Typography will always be a work in progress.Respect it. Typography has a mind of its own.The idea of perfection is so imperfect. You don’t have to be a designer to distinguish between a good and bad font, so pick Helvetica! –problem solved. Keep it Simple. Keep it clean. Stay innovative.
